6 Week Course for New Parents / Carers

The Little Stars Team are excited to host a Zoom meet-up group specifically for parents and carers of babies under 1 year old who have spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus.

The group will meet once a week, 10-11am, over a 6-week period on the 10th, 17th, and 24th September, and on the 1st, 8th, and 15th October.  

This will be a relaxed, interactive setting where we can explore your needs and share experiences, from the highs to the challenges, of parenting a child with these conditions. Expect baby tears, nappies to be changed and feeding.

Just bring yourself as you are and connect with other families!

We will cover topics such as your child’s condition, managing medical appointments, routines, stages of development, well-being and benefits. We will also be joined by our Shine Physiotherapist, Bronwyn, to give her expert advice on movement and exercises to do with your baby.  In addition, our Shine Occupational Therapist, Kathy, will join us to share tips on activities to support your baby's development, including sensory play.
